Rules

  • You must sign a release, be a member and settle your account prior to showing your horse (you may leave a blank check with the show secretary to settle account). Both owners and riders must be current members of CCC to compete. To comply with CCC insurance requirements anyone riding or showing a horse on the show grounds must be a member.
  • Contestants are responsible for determining the eligibility of themselves and their horses to enter any class. Eligibility is based upon rider's and/or horse's LTE. Any points and/or monies earned by an ineligible horse or rider will automatically be revoked. Monies won in events restricted by age (futurities, derbies, maturities, etc.) shall NOT be counted when determining eligibility.
  • Must show in a minimum of 5 shows to qualify for year end awards. The point system will be used to determine year end awards. In the event of a tie for year end awards, the rider/horse that has attended the most shows will receive the award. If they have attended the same number of shows, the tie will be broken by rider/horse with the most money earned throughout the current club show year. If a tie still remains, then there will be a coin flip to break the tie.
  • Entries are due the Wednesday before the show, we order cattle on Thursday. Once a horse is in the draw, no money will be refunded. If a horse is scratched before the draw, you will be charged a cattle fee for each class scratched. If you enter after the dead line and the cattle have been ordered you will be added last in the draw.
  • Show management reserves the right to cancel any class in which three or less horses are entered. Small classes may be combined with another class and cattle from that class added to make a sizeable herd.
  • There will be a $25.00 fee for changes made by rider/owner on the day of the show, if the class is already drawn you will be last in the herd.

Contestants are responsible for determining the eligibility of themselves and their horses to enter any class. Eligibility is based upon points/dollars earned at NCHA cuttings. Monies won in Limited Aged Events (events restricted by age such as futurities, derbies, maturities, etc.) shall NOT be counted when determining eligibility.

NCHA Challenger Standings Based On Points

NCHA will establish Regional Top 15 Standings for the new Challenger shows. The Challenger Standings will be based strictly on points, rather than money eared. However, money won at Challenger Shows will count toward lifetime earnings, rider and horse eligibility and achievement awards.

Points awarded for any Challenger Show class will be based on the number of entries, with one point for every two entries, to a maximum of 10 points. No half-points will be awarded. If there is an odd number of entries, points will be rounded up. So placings in a 20-horse class, would be awarded as follows: 1st = 10 pts., 2nd = 9 pts. and down to 1 pt. for 10th place. All entries that mark a score of at least 60 will receive at least one point, which will help encourage ongoing participation. So in this example, places 11-20 would each receive one point. In the case of ties, each entry will receive the points awarded to the highest tied placing, with the normal points going to any contestants following the tie. This is similar to the way points are currently awarded in Youth classes at Championship Shows.
