In review of our past season, I can’t help but notice we have a lot to be grateful for. We are so thankful for all our generous sponsors, board members, and staff who diligently work to keep this club exceptional. And of course, a huge thank you to all the members who choose to participate and compete with this awesome club. As always, we love to hear your feedback as to how we can improve. Looking forward to this next season we do have some announcements to make. We will be offering a special Father’s Day re-run cattle class. This class will be open to all fathers and will award a champion buckle to the winner! We once again plan to give Jeff Smith saddles in every class, except for the youth and beginners cutting class where we will award champion buckles. Because the $50 jackpot payout was well received, we intend to continue the payout in the coming season. To keep up with some growing expenses, we will be raising our entry fees by $15. Like everything else these days, expenses are going up, so we appreciate your understanding of the necessary increase. The club is also working to improve the sound system and we are investing more in our arena footing – for which we owe a big “Thank You” to Tony Judge’s expertise at Olympia Footing LLC. We have a few changes to our board this year. Our Vice President, Steve Schlesinger, has resigned from the board. However, we won’t let him get away from us so easily. Steve’s involvement in this club has played a key role in the growth and success of Clements Cutting Club. His leadership spearheading our NCHA shows is a large part of the reason our club is financially secure. Further, the reputation of the Summer Bash makes it a show that people from all over look forward to returning to. We are grateful Steve will still be producing our CCC Summer Bash. Sherry Balian has also stepped down from the board. She has played a vital role behind the scenes in both the club shows and our NCHA weekend shows. Her strong work ethic, positive attitude, and knowledge of board of director processes will be missed. Jessika Mehrten has moved to Arizona. She had many responsibilities with the board and both she and her husband put in a lot of hours making sure our shows ran smoothly and without a hitch. Their presence will also be missed. On behalf of CCC, I would like to extend our gratitude to everyone for contributing and would like to wish Steve, Sherry, and Jessika the best of luck in all their future endeavors. However, our club isn’t to be left without worthy leadership. Breanne Schaffer has graciously accepted the role of VP. Thank You, Breanne, for being ready to step up for the club! We would also like to welcome our new board members, John Primasing and Troy Jensen, who are already putting a positive mark on our club. I’d also like to thank our cattle handler, Garret Potter, for all the hard work he put in last year and would like to wish him the best of luck in his new job. I would like to welcome our new cattle handler to the team, Doc Brooks. CCC has been blessed to have a large budget for our year-end awards and this is in large part due to the success of our CCC Summer Bash, thanks again Steve! However, without support and sponsorship we wouldn’t be able to bring you the quality shows we do. So, I would like to ask everyone who is able to show their support with sponsorships and donations to help us continue to promote cuttings that are fun and enjoyable for all, at both national and grassroots roots levels.
